Travellingroma is back

After quite a long break from putting up posts on the blog it is time to let you all know where are travels are taking us now.

During the last ten weeks, after our North Island winter tour we have been based at our 'flat' in Clyde. This is a small self contained one bedroom unit in the garage. We share the section with our tenant who us in the house and it works very well for us. We have enjoyed the extra space the flat gives us, as well as being able to get out into the garden. We have put in a few vegetables that will hopefully provide us with good eating come the summer. It is so nice to be able to pick herbs and greens to add to a garden salad.

Stephen has also been busy with his latest project - his pizza oven. This is now almost completed and really requires a post of its own which will happen at a later date.

During the last ten weeks we have made three trips away - two to Invercargill and one to the West Coast. In Invecargill we like to catch up with friends and family as well as check on our rented property. We were also lucky to be involved with a major planting project at Bushy Point in Otatara - The Living Legends that was part of the World Rugby Cup programme. A thousand native plants were planted on the Saturday morning back in September when we were there, and we like to think that it all went to help off set the carbon footprint we had made during the winter!

Our trip up the West Coast was to help a good friend celebrate a significant birthday. She had rented a bach for Labour Weekend at Punakaiki so we could all stay together and enjoy a low key celebration. We thoroughly enjoyed the get together. Punakaiki is a beautiful spot where we have all spent time together in the past. We traveled up through the Haast Pass and went home via Arthhurs Pass so we could go into Christchurch and then down to Geraldine. We wanted to catch up with all my family that live up that way as we won't have another chance until the end of January. That is because our travels are now taking us to Australia for five weeks, and this will be followed by our working holiday in the Clyde Camping ground again for the summer holiday period.

The reason for our Australian trip is so we can attend a family wedding in Westen Australia on the 20 December. We thought that since it is quite a distance we would take the opportunity to return to The Blue Mountains, travel to Wauchope to see my sister as well as allowing plenty of time on the west coast.

So let the travel blog recommence.
