A Trip to Sydney

Tuesday had us going down the Mountains and into Sydney. Rob had organised a yacht (He works on a casual basis for East Sail) for us to sail on for the afternoon. We had two other sailers join us - one being someone who had sailed with us in Greece two years ago so it was lovely to catch up. We had four hours on the water and the weather was just perfect for some spirited sailing. Before returning to the marina we moored up in a sheltered bay where we had a cuppa and a swim. The water at 21 was just at lower the range of warmth that I like to be in and was very refreshing. We were also able to watch a thunderstorm developing but fortunately it didn't eventuate into any rain on that day.

After a freshen up, a change of clothes and a cool drink at the yacht club we headed off to the Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst. Georgina-Kay Trout, a friend of Helen and Rob's, had the opening of her exhibition, Mostly Small Nudes. She had been working on this collection for at least two years, using models at an art school she attends.

After a good hour or so viewing, chatting and enjoying a glass of bubbly we walked around the corner to Crown Street to complete our day out with a meal at The Original Balkan Restaurant. Their web page says it has been operated by the same Croation family since 1964. Their specialities include many traditional Croatian styled foods which we all tried and we weren't disappointed.

The drive back up the Mountain took us an hour and a half which is almost record time and bed beckoned to end a very enjoyable day.
