It was great to be able to make a birthday cake for Jess. She had taken holiday leave this week but had to go to work on Wednesday which was my chance to make a cake. Carrot cake is her favourite so that is what she got, with lots of cream cheese frosting and candles to complete it.
We decided to have it the night before her birthday as we figured that it would have been the actual day had we been in NZ. So a celebratory drink, a meal followed by cake and our present was what we did.
