Shardlow

We had a Sunday outing to Shardlow near Derby. Jessica's friends Rosie and Huw live there so off we headed up the M1 for the day. When we got there Hew was busy working on his newly acquired VW van. He was getting it ready for a camping expedition next weekend.

We managed to drag him away to a local pub for the traditional Sunday roast.

This was followed by a walk through the village and along the two path of the canal. It is really a lovely village with lots of people about enjoying the day.

Rosie and Huw's house is very old, by NZ standards, having been built in the. 1850s. They have done it up nicely and are also lucky to have a piece of land that gives them a narrow canal side garden.

Their garden is where the blue and white kayaks can be seen. Just room for an outside table and further behind a veggie garden.
